Have you read this yet? Sam Raimi, says Sony Pictures plans to make six Spiderman films in total, and that he would consider helming all of them.
I actually didn't think they would make six. I was guessing 3 or 4 max. That's the usual. Of course Spiderman could turn into the next James Bond franchises.

I hope they do make 6 movies because I like the spider-man movies.
Posted:  05 Jan 2007 06:16
Yeah, I could easily see 6 movies, I mean Spidey has a ton of villians that have yet to be tapped into, and most of them are good quality villians, unlike Batman who has like 4 villians who aren't uber lame.
I'd like to see Carnage, The Lizard, and Mysterio get some screen time.

Hydro Man was silly but I liked his first appearance.

The Black Cat might be interesting, but I wouldn't want them to run wild with her taking up the whole story line and creating a huge romance between Spider-Man and the Cat.

The Lizard was always a favorite of mine. The Hob Goblin was pretty cool too. I'd also like to see the Kingpin show up along with a cameo of Daredevil. They should acknowledge the existance of other superheroes in New York maybe a cameo by the Human Torch since they are supposed to be pals in the comics.

I think it would be sweet if they could build up a huge movie-verse of Marvel heroes, including heroes making appearances in other heroes movies (like Elektra in DD, and Silver Surfer in FF 2). And then eventually they could have a huge movie crossover storyline like I don't know...maybe a Civil War movie sometime around 2012 or so.

That story would be so big it might have to be a TV mini series. It would actually make a great ongoing series too.

Hey there you go, that would work. Im surprised Marvel does have any live action tv shows, I mean Smallville has been a pretty big hit for DC, you'd think Marvel would take a stab at a tv show, or atleast a tv mini series.
Posted:  07 Jan 2007 21:50
Yeah, they ought to. Well they did try with Blade and it failed. I think it was borderline getting renewed for 2 seasons. I had a hard time getting into the show, but I thought the movies were pretty cool.

I think a character that would make a great TV show might be one of Marvel's lesser known characters from the New Universe the Star Brand

The New Universe line was an attempt to have superhero universe within the real world. Sort of a what if idea.

speaking of real world heroes type people, I was watching this thing about spontanious human combustion today. The thing about it is, that from the evidence of the ashes they find, it appears that the burning starts from the inside of the body, and reaches temperatures hotter than that of furnaces used for cremating bodies. The ashes are further decomposed than those from a furnace used for cremating. And then there was this Asian man who claimed that it was caused by "chi" or the inner spirit, and he had devoted his life to mastering "chi". He could shock everybody at will, not little shocks, but like knock you to the ground shocks. There were all these skeptics that didnt beleive him and when he met them in person, he knocked them over with a electric shock. He then had a pile of newspapers in front of him, held his hands above them and started going into convulsions. The pile of newspapers then errupted in flame, no joke. It was crazy.

Gee, if he could do that I wonder if he could will himself to fly. Now that would be cool.

I've heard of supernatural occurrences in church before where a missionary from someplace way out in the boonies says they've ran into demonically possessed individuals which is something I really don't want to be around.

I'm chicken when it comes to unnatural or unexplained phenomenon.

This is the kind of thing they used to show on the old "Ripley's Believe It or Not" show back in the 80's or "That's Incredible".

In the case of the guy who was master of the "chi" I think he was just able to tap into more of his brain than the average human being. I think alotta of things that we consider supernatural like people doing amazing and unconcievable things, is merely a case of that person tapping into unused dormant parts of their brain. The average person only uses something like 8% of their brain. It's kinda like the movie "Phenomanon" with John Travolta, he able to invent and do a number of amazing things because a tumor in his brain allowed him to access and use more of it. God has given us great brains and tools to use, just think what we could all do if somehow we were able to use the other 92% of our brains. It's crazy to think about the possibilities.

It makes for great sci-fi that's for sure. It's fascinating stuff, but you never know. Maybe we once used all of our brain power before Adam sinned. It would take a pretty big brain to name all the animals.

It could also turn out that scientist will one day discover that we do indeed use those other parts of our brains for things yet undetected. You just never know. Seems like I've heard of some body parts once thought worthless ended up being actually useful to the surprise of scientist. I tend to forget exact details though.

You ever watch the detective show Magnum P.I.? He's always talking about that gut feeling which usually turns out right. Maybe the unused portion of the brain has something to do with that subconscious gut feeling that turns out to be more correct than we want to admit sometimes. Like our own Spider Sense I guess, but without the immediate danger.

Exactly. It also explains the deja vu paradox, I have experienced deja vu moments quite often.
Posted:  11 Jan 2007 15:52
Yeah, I hate that feeling. I've got to see that movie.

How many movies you think they'll eventually make?

Will Spider-man movies be around as long as James Bond or Batman movies?

I'm thinking yes, but sometimes even huge money makers stop like Indiana Jones for instance. They are just now getting around to making the 4th one after almost 2 decades.

Six movies is great to hear but if they were only going to make just one last movie they should put in more than just one villian. Three perhaps! Hint! Hint!
Because honestly the villians are the only new things that the movie creators are going to think of
Posted:  26 Feb 2007 15:31
Well maybe you have a point, maybe they should come up with some new Spider-Man story ideas unique to the movie. How about Spider-Man vs an alien invasion?

Although I am an ENOURMOUS fan of the two films yet released, I don't think six films is a good Idea! Especially if 3 is a bomb! (That isn't likely) Spidey 4 is pretty good sounding even though I'm a big fan of trilogies. [up] Five maybe and six no way!
Posted:  02 Apr 2007 16:38
never say never because it's likely by that point Spider-man would get a reboot like Batman Begins, and we know how successful that movie was. If they would have stopped with Batman and Robin it would have been terrible for Batman's movie legacy.

You have a point there I suppose, I just hope they don't crap it up ya know?
Posted:  16 Apr 2007 16:43
I think it would hard to keep making them as wildly successful forever, but I think gone are the days of really bad superhero films. We'll never see something like the old Spider-man TV show on the big screen anyway that's for sure.

As bad it was though I would like to have that old show on DVD. It was great to watch when I was a kid just bad compared to the movies.

I've always thought his powers were cool, and I love the sense of humor Spidey uses against his opponents.
